I want to transfer from UTexas (austin) to FIT (Fashion institute of technology) for spring 2009 and then i want to transfer to Parsons for fall 2009. Is that a good idea? I’m currently only a freshman in college. I heard that Parsons doesnt accept transfers from FIT? I want to transfer to FIT so i’ll have some like background in the major i want to do. I want to do advertising&marketing communications at FIT and then i want to move to Design & Management at Parsons. Which school is better for what i want to do? Thanks!

If you want Parsons, transfer directly there.
If you want FIT, transfer there and stay there.
Transferring to FIT, then to Parsons, is impractical and also unlikely to be successful. First, you’ll lose credits in the transfers. Second, Parsons will wonder what the heck you’re doing. It’s not a good idea to try all those transfers.
Why must you transfer? U Texas Austin is a very strong school. Can you get to where you want to go in your career by, perhaps, majoring in something in their college of communications and/or arts and/or business, and doing internships in your field? You could, for example, major in advertising, major in design – a double major – and minor in business management. UT Austin has a decent art school. You can also do summer programs at FIT or at Parsons to supplement your work at UT.
But if you do want to transfer, pick one school, and transfer directly there. You can then do summer programs at the other school.
