Wonderful and whimsical and informative. A guide highly recommended. I read allot of guides and “price guides” and frankly most are dull, drab and dry. Not so with Ms. LoAlbo’s entry into the field. This incredibly informative and eye catching volume sparkles because it just so happens to also be a good read. Written in a casual conversational manner it engages you almost immediately and, even if the subject matter is not really what you are obsessed with, I think you will find the information you absorb in it’s subversively anecdotal style to be most entertaining. Whether you are a dilittante, “newbie” or have been well seasoned in the vintage/antique trenches I feel you will gain something here. Art is art and the care, craftsmanship and eye for detail that inspires all designers is in full flower in this splendid colorful book. Mostly it is conveyed by the infectious joy and appreciation that Ms. LoAlbo so obviously feels.

This is the most extensive guide book I’ve found on this subject. Each page accurately describes the pictured vintage items in detail, with era, item composition & approximate current value. Miss LoAlbo, not only reports this industry, ‘she IS the industry’. When I wish to purchase vintage items as gifts or for my own personal collections, there is no better source…… Bruce P. Reinhard

As a person who works in costumes professionally, I found Ms LoAlbo’s book to be a perfect research tool. As a person who wears vintage, it totally made me drool. The writing is conversational, yet informative. I have given this as a gift to other likeminded people and will be doing so in the future.
I hope that she will be doing more books in the future.

In the interest of full disclosure, I must confess that I wrote the forward to this simply amazing book. And the volume more than lives up to the forward.
The photography alone is breathtaking: real women of all ages modeling vintage bags, shoes, jewelry and many other pretties along with modern clothing. (My personal favorite section is on vintage hats.) Stacy LoAlbo writes knowledgeably about her topic–it is not for nothing that she is called “The Vintage Maven”–even about men’s accessories.
This book is delicious eye candy for the vintage lover and educational for would-be vintage lovers and fashionistas everywhere. Buy it for yourself and as a gift for your loved ones. Ciao!

There are cycles in fashion and given enough time, so many aspects of fashion seem to recycle and repeat over time — and that phenomena most definitely includes fashion accessories from ties to handbags to scarves, hats, and all manner of jewelry. That’s just one reason that “Vintage Fashion Accessories” is such a fascinating and profusely illustrated survey that will prove of interest to any fashion conscious reader — especially those with limited budgets who will be happy to find that the addition of an accessory can obviate the need for an entire wardrobe replacement to maintain ‘fashionability’ in their attire. Author Stacy LoAlbo draws upon her many years of experience and expertise as the owner and proprietor of Incogneeto, a New Jersey store whose clothing and accessories inventory range from Victorian finery to funky ’70s polyester for both men and women, and range from the easily affordable to the stratospheric in pricing. More than just an antique/collectibles picture book, “Vintage Fashion Accessories” provide the reader with a history of fashion accessories and current values, advice on collecting, and even recommendations for places to shop. Of special note is the chapter focusing on accessories for the gentleman, making “Vintage Fashion Accessories” an ideal and enthusiastically recommended addition to personal, professional, and community library Fashion History and Antiques/Collectibles reference collections and supplemental reading lists.
