Where should I go to do this or should I get a drawing book based on drawing figures? Are there art classes for fashion design drawing? What would be my best approach?
For figure drawing, my book list is at http://www.geocities.com/s6xtiliana/About-Me.htm , click on "Recommended Reading."
"Dynamic Wrinkles and Drapery" by Burne Hogarth &
"How to Draw Lifelike Portraits from Photographs" by Lee Hammond
are of particular interest for clothing.

There’s a book by Lee Hammond specifically on fashion models and clothing, called Draw Fashion Models. It’s not the most advanced book on how to draw people, but it’s got good basic information in it. It also has sections on drawing clothing, hair, and jewelry, and on making adjustments to the composition so it looks more like a fashion illustration than a regular portrait.
As for classes, any college with a fashion design major should have classes for fashion design drawing, and some might be open to people who aren’t regular students at the college. If you can’t get into a fashion design drawing class, a regular figure drawing class will be a good start, but there won’t be nearly as much focus on clothing. Either way, you’ll get some experience drawing from life, which you wouldn’t get from a book.
